At least 2 tornadoes confirmed in eastern Iowa Sunday
At least two tornadoes have been confirmed in the storms that caused damage across eastern Iowa Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service said Sunday afternoon that it had confirmed tornado damage in Jackson and Scott counties. Both tornadoes were only on the ground for a short time, and no injuries were reported with either.
One tornado moved across the southern part of Andrew, Iowa, for about one mile just after 7 a.m. It generated winds of roughly 100 mph that destroyed a building at an agricultural cooperative and snapped several trees.
The Scott County tornado was on the ground for one mile in Park View, Iowa. Several tree limbs were broken and crops were damaged in the area.
Additional damage surveys will be done Monday in Vinton and Walford.
